Hello!
If you’re looking for a friendly and skilled online piano and theory teacher in Edmonton, Canada, or the United States, look no further! I’m Trevor Baron, and I’ve had the pleasure of helping over 100 students uncover their musical potential.
At my studio, Bach To Basics, I offer a range of lessons tailored to your needs. As a full-time professional private online music teacher, I bring a wealth of experience, having served over half a decade as a choir director and organist at King of Kings Lutheran Church in St. Albert.
My musical journey includes studies with The Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, The Alberta College Conservatory of Music of Edmonton, and the Berklee College of Music in Boston. I’ve also delved into courses in theory and performance in the Grant MacEwan Music Department.
If you’re curious to learn more about me, my projects, and my teaching philosophy, please drop me a line or contact me through this website. Oh, and did I mention I’ve had the honour of being a judge for the Juno Awards in 2010, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020, and 2022?

My approach to teaching music
Nurturing Talent, one Note at a Time
Discipline isn’t part of my teaching repertoire; I’m committed to crafting an enriching environment where the emphasis is on the pleasure of having fun and exploring music collaboratively with students.
As your music teacher, I strive to turn our exploration of piano music and theory into an exhilarating adventure. Together, we’ll elevate your playing skills in a fun, encouraging, safe, and flexible environment, celebrating each unique stride in your musical progress.
In lessons, we embark on a rich and comprehensive musical journey, exploring a diverse range of piano repertoire that spans classical masterpieces to contemporary gems. Together, we delve into the intricate art of sight reading and ear training, transforming musical notes into captivating melodies.
For me, teaching extends beyond the notes—it’s about fostering deep pride, confidence, and joy in each student. Adopting a holistic approach to skill development for real-world applications, our lessons strive to cultivate a lifelong love for music and foster personal skills essential to pursuing future endeavours.
As your music teacher, my love for teaching stems from the joy of sharing my musical knowledge, witnessing your remarkable progress, and igniting a genuine passion for music within you.
