Spark Your Musical Journey: Materials You’ll Need
Hi! I’m Trevor, and welcome to Bach To Basics Music, my online teaching studio.
Excited to start your musical journey? Here’s what you’ll need to get started—and don’t worry, it’s pretty straightforward!
First, you’ll need a piano or keyboard for your lessons and weekly practice. It doesn’t matter if it’s an acoustic piano or a digital keyboard—whatever works best for you. The key is having an instrument at home to practice on and have fun with!
Second, you’ll need a good internet connection. This is key for smooth, uninterrupted video and audio, which makes for a great lesson experience. Most students use a laptop or tablet for the best results, but some prefer their smartphone—it really depends on the individual student.
Now for the fun stuff—let’s talk about the music books and materials you’ll need for lessons! During your free trial lesson, we’ll talk about your interests, goals, and any previous experience you’ve had with the piano and piano lessons. Together, we’ll figure out the best materials for you.
Trust me, there’s nothing like opening a new music book, diving into fresh pieces, and discovering where your first musical adventure will take you!
And of course, we won’t forget the essentials—a pencil and eraser. These will be your go-to tools for writing down notes, counting, and performance instructions on your music to help you during your practice. The notes you take today will soon become reminders of how much progress you’ve made.
