Welcome to all the new students who enrolled in lessons this week with me through Outschool and my studio, Bach To Basics Music!
It’s hard to believe there are only two months left until the summer break. Just a quick reminder: my studio will remain open throughout the summer for any students who wish to continue their lessons during the break.
For those preparing for Royal Conservatory of Music exams—whether in Theory, History, or Practical disciplines—the exam season is getting closer! If you’re taking your exam online, there’s still plenty of flexibility to prepare at your own pace.
I’m excited to share that this is the largest enrollment my studio has ever had, with 57 individual weekly lessons and teaching hours running from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. I hope you’re all enjoying your lessons as much as I am—thank you for helping the studio reach this new milestone!
Explore More Ways to Make Music a Part of Your Life
Not every musician follows the same path—and that’s a good thing! While some of you love playing piano pieces and performing, others might be more excited about creating music, recording at home, or even writing your own compositions.
To help you explore different sides of music, I’ve been working on a series of websites—each one designed to match a unique musical interest:
- Bach To Basics Music – Perfect if you’re focused on learning piano and improving your performance skills.
- Listening Edge Records – A space for students who are curious about recording, editing, and producing music.
- Illustrious Sound – If you’ve ever wanted to build a home studio or learn how studio gear works, this one’s for you.
- Trevor Baron Music – For those of you who enjoy music theory, harmony, or want to try composing your own music.
- Up-Tempo Publishing – If you’re interested in sharing or selling your own music one day, you’ll learn about music self-publishing here.
- TrevorBaron.com – A central hub for everything I do as a teacher (and a handy link if you ever forget the name Bach To Basics!).
These aren’t just websites—they’re doors into different musical adventures you might want to explore now or down the road. Whether you stick with piano or branch out, music can be a part of your life in more ways than one.
These websites are meant to inspire students who want to explore beyond piano performance and dive into other areas of music. Whether you’re pursuing a hobby or considering a future career, you’ll be able to see how everything connects—and find a path that excites you.
Thanks again for being part of my studio. I look forward to seeing you at your next lesson.
Until next time,
I’m just a music teacher having fun—
Catch ya on the next one.
