It’s hard to believe that we are one month into lessons already. Students are off to a great start, with some starting to plan for which exam session they wish to take exams in. The new student section seems to be getting great reviews with the latest resources, especially the leaderboard, which allows students to track their place throughout the games we play each week.
After years of holding off, I’m finally preparing to launch a few new YouTube channels supporting students learning to write and produce music. The channels will use the software programs Noteflight for music notation and Soundtrap for music production. I chose these two programs because they are easily accessible for most people and have the basic feature sets of their more costly siblings. There are also plans to launch two additional channels, one for music theory and another for those interested in home studios of which the latter is more of a fun hobby channel. These channels will be in addition to the main YouTube studio channel, Bach To Basics Music, which will feature videos on technique, performance, and ear training. Please remember that these are not professional YouTube channels with weekly content but, are meant to serve as additional learning resources for students.
A rather ambitious project of mine is to create a blog post on each of the cities located in Canada and learn more about the music schools and teachers in these areas, along with general information about the city. Think of it as a tour of music schools within Canada. I admit this project may take a while.
That’s all the news for this month, so please keep stopping by the Bach To Basics Music website to see what new things my studio offers. Have a great month, and I look forward to our next lesson.
