Introducing My 2025 YouTube Channels
Bach To Basics Music
The Bach To Basics Music YouTube channel already features 264 videos and counting, providing valuable support for students with their ear training and sight reading. Soon, piano technique will also be added to the mix. This channel is a cornerstone of my studio’s commitment to enhancing students’ musical journeys, and now I’m excited to introduce additional channels designed to help students further their music studies in creative and engaging ways.
Listening Edge Records: From Keys to Tracks
This channel is all about taking your piano playing into the realm of music production. Think of it as an introduction to recording—how to transform your performances into polished tracks using simple tools like a laptop and recording software. I’ll cover the basics of music production and show how even beginners can start creating their own recordings. Whether you’re dreaming of becoming a producer or just curious about how your favorite songs come together, this channel will bridge the gap between the piano and the studio.
Illustrious Sound: The Fun of Building a Studio
Don’t let the name fool you—there’s nothing “illustrious” about the sounds here, and that’s exactly the point! Illustrious Sound will show the joy of experimenting with studio setups, whether it’s a simple configuration with a MIDI keyboard and headphones or a more complex setup with outboard gear and hardware synths. The goal is to highlight the fun, quirky, and rewarding side of merging piano skills with technology. It’s a reminder that creating music doesn’t have to be serious—it can be a playful and adventurous hobby.
Trevor Baron Music: The Building Blocks of Music
Music theory often feels like a mystery to students, but it’s the key to unlocking the magic of melody and harmony. Trevor Baron Music will break down the basics of music theory, making it approachable and practical for piano students. Whether you’re interested in writing your own music or simply want to deepen your understanding of the pieces you play, this channel will guide you through the foundational elements of musical language. My hope is to inspire creativity while reinforcing the skills you’re building during lessons.
Up-Tempo Publishing: From Composer to Publisher
Ever thought about seeing your compositions in print? Up-Tempo Publishing will help students explore the world of creating sheet music, whether for personal enjoyment or sharing with others. I’ll cover everything from the basics of music notation software to tips on self-publishing. This channel is for anyone who wants to take their musical ideas from the keyboard to the printed page, giving students the tools to distribute their music—or just preserve it for themselves.
The Journey Ahead
These channels represent the natural extension of my studio and my desire to nurture well-rounded musicians. However, as much as I’m excited to dive into this project, running a busy teaching studio means time is often in short supply. I’m asking for a little patience and understanding as these channels slowly take shape. With perseverance and a shared love for music, I’m confident we’ll see some exciting videos appear on these auxiliary channels in the near future. Well, perhaps “exciting” is too strong a word.
Stay tuned, and thank you for joining me on this creative adventure. I can’t wait to share more as these projects develop and to see where your own musical journey leads!leads!
