Happy New Year! It’s hard to believe that another year has passed, and we only have half an academic year to go before the end of the school year. The studio’s goals remain the same: to start producing additional videos for my YouTube channels, to put up a free section of primary-level piano pieces for students, and to add more PDFs to the student section. I aim to develop these additional student resources without sacrificing the time needed to plan and teach lessons.
Over the past four months, several adult students with unpredictable schedules have asked me if I can accommodate drop-in lessons. I’ve created three Booking Schedules allowing adults to book 30, 45 and one-hour lessons with my studio. These Booking pages enable adult students to fit regular lessons into their schedules more efficiently.
The expansion of my teaching studio, Bach To Basics Music, now teaching across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and soon Australia, allows me to meet students from all over, including a few lessons in Spain. With this expansion across several time zones, booking lessons has become much easier using the automated scheduler. I have some other ideas in the back of my head, but I must get caught up on some of these different projects first. I’m hesitant to give a timeline because I’ve been wrong multiple times in the past few months. Here is an ongoing project of mine which is trying to cover some of the music schools and events in cities across Canada and the United States.
If you’re one of my students preparing to take one of the RCM exams, we will focus on the January exam preparation. Hence, all students feel confident approaching their exams. For those who want more time, the next series of RCM exams will occur closer to June. This will give some students the extra time they would like to prepare.
I’ve also spent some time tidying up the studio website to accommodate the additional resources I want to include. This takes a great deal of time, but I believe it will help students with their studies.
That’s all for now, and I wish you a great start, middle, and end to this new year. I look forward to our next lesson.
